  • What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy work that influences the biofield, an electromagnetic field that is throughout and around all living things (National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, 2023).

Reiki is used to guide energy throughout the body to promote the receiver’s self-healing abilities (National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, 2023).

Reiki is traditionally practiced with the practitioner placing their hands on or above the recipient while channeling the energy flow to areas of the recipient’s body that need healing and support.

Reiki also works on the 7 chakras of the body.

The 7 chakras are energy centers that are located within the body starting at the base of the spine (sacrum) and working all the way up to the crown of the head.

These energy centers are important because they impact all of the organs and tissues within the body.

If one of the energy centers is off it could be leading to imbalances in other energy centers which can impact the entire body.

The goal of reiki is to align the energy centers so the energy is flowing as it should throughout all 7 energy centers.

  • What is myofascal release (MFR)?

Myofascial release is a hands-on technique where the practitioner applies gentle sustained pressure to the myofascial connective tissue of the patient’s body. This gentle pressure creates the piezoelectric phenomenon- gentle pressure applied slowly will allow the fascia to elongate. This elongation of the fascia promotes fullbody healing which can eleviate pain, fatigue, inflammation, and help with numerous health conditions.

Fascia is a system of the body that surrounds every cell, organ, and tissue within the body. It is a weblike structure that is connected to everything within the body. Trauma to the body can create restrictions within the fascia that the body holds on to which can create pain, inflammation, and numerous health concerns.

The goal of myofascial release is to restore the fascia to its natural fluid like state to relieve pain and help restore the health and wellbeing of your entire body.
